This month’s Hey Legal Social live streamed on YouTube and Twitter on 14 June.

Edith Forrest, Advocate, was joined by Abigail Rolling, criminal defence solicitor, to discuss her upcoming Edinburgh Fringe show. They discussed the perception of the “fat cat” lawyer and the difficulties the criminal bar faces both north and south of the border.

Edith and Abigail were then joined by Ruth Croman, Partner of Macnabs Solicitors and Lindsey Wilson, Consultant Clinical Psychologist, for a discussion on “Have we Heard Too Much? The Televising of Trials”.

The panel explored whether the televising of trials is something there should be more of, the impact that social media snippets can have upon jury decision making and the potential impacts upon mental health.
