Clare Ryan, Solicitor from Glasgow is a lawyer who has represented protestors who have faced prosecution in Scotland having been arrested at the G8 summit in Scotland in 2005 and protests at Faslane Peace Camp. Clare has represented protestors linked with Exctinction Rebellion and has worked with Greenpeace to provide advice on the Scottish legal system as we move towards COP26 in Glasgow.

In this video for Hey Legal News Clare discusses what may happen to protestors who face arrest during demonstrations; gaining advice from a solicitor either by telephone or in person, advice before and during police interview, the question of bail and being released by the Sheriff court on a bail undertaking, being remanded for trial and courts operating 7 days a week during COP26.
